About me

Since Jonathan's first front page in the Washington Daily News, Feb 1967, illustrating the still unsolved and vicious truck bombing murder of Wharlest Jackson, in Mississippi, for accepting a 25 cent pay raise at the tire factory, over a white worker, Jonathan has devoted himself to creating media visibility of people of color in the arts, travel sections of The NYTimes and other venues.

Ships and maritime have been passions since childhood. However, general journalism, travel, politics, geo politics, cuisine , performing arts and boxing have also been an embarrassment of interests.

This website is devoted to showcasing current personal projects as well as bringing to light some of Jonathan's legacy portraits of major personalities, during a 20 year freelance career with the New York Times, various derring do for other editorial and corporate clients including Smithsonian and Exxon USA , his dance work and continued interests in aerial images of things non maritime.

Enjoy.
